Laura Kucera advice for others

I was born with a heart defect and have undergone three open heart surgeries by the time I was six years old. After my third surgery, my doctors told my parents that I would need a pacemaker by the time I was twenty-five. In 2002, at the age of twenty-one, I underwent my first pacemaker implant surgery.

Throughout all of my surgeries and procedures, I have learned a lot about myself and what works best for me when it comes to recovering. Here are some tips that I hope will help others who are facing surgery or another health challenge.
